LOCATION
7,508km² of tenure located in the East McArthur Basin in the Northern Territory, approximately 30km west of the Northern Territory–Queensland border.
TENURE
100% owned by Golden Horse Minerals following completion of the acquisition in September 2025.
HISTORIC PRODUCTION
The historical Sandy Flat open pit produced approximately 170,000 tonnes at an average grade of 4.6% Cu between 1994 and 1996. Oxide ore was subsequently processed from stockpiles between 2006 and 2008.
THE POTENTIAL
The Sorrel Copper Project is highly prospective for copper and other base metals and is located within the broader McArthur Basin, a world-class base-metal province. The Project hosts numerous copper-bearing breccia pipes, with more than 50 interpreted across the broader Project area. Only seven have been meaningfully drill tested, highlighting significant exploration and resource growth potential.
CURRENT ACTIVITY
Golden Horse has completed an independent prospectivity review and is undertaking further geological and historical data assessment to identify and prioritise high-impact drill targets. The Company is progressing heritage approvals and planning future exploration programs targeting untested breccia pipes and other copper, cobalt, uranium and rare earth element (Cu-Co-U-REE) targets.
RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
- 100% acquisition of the Sorrel Copper Project completed in September 2025.
- Inferred JORC 2012 Mineral Resource of 8.4Mt @ 1.1% Cu for 88.6kt of contained copper.
- 55,359m of historical drilling completed across 787 RC and diamond drill holes
Exposure to the copper market
The Sorrel Copper Project provides Golden Horse with meaningful exposure to copper alongside its flagship Southern Cross Gold Project in Western Australia.
The Project is underpinned by an existing Inferred Mineral Resource of 88,600 tonnes of contained copper and offers significant exploration upside through the systematic testing of numerous untested breccia pipes and regional copper-base metal targets.
Golden Horse considers Sorrel a strategic long-term opportunity within a highly prospective Tier-1 mining jurisdiction, while maintaining its primary focus on advancing the Southern Cross Gold Project.
Project History
The Sorrel Copper Project has a history of copper mining and exploration dating back several decades.
The historical Sandy Flat open pit was mined between 1994 and 1996, producing approximately 170,000 tonnes at an average grade of 4.6% Cu. Oxide ore was subsequently treated from stockpiles between 2006 and 2008.
The historical open pit measures approximately 220m by 180m and extends to approximately 50m below surface. Previous metallurgical and processing studies indicated that conventional copper processing methods could potentially be applied to mineralisation within the Project.
Extensive historical exploration has resulted in 55,359m of drilling across 787 RC and diamond drill holes, providing the foundation for the current Mineral Resource.
The Project
Copper mineralisation at Sorrel is predominantly hosted within steeply dipping to vertical cylindrical breccia pipes ranging from approximately 50m to 150m in diameter.
The current Mineral Resource comprises seven mineralised deposits:
- Azurite: 0.292Mt @ 1.3% Cu
- Bluff: 2.221Mt @ 1.4% Cu
- Prince: 0.220Mt @ 0.7% Cu
- Punchbowl: 1.162Mt @ 0.8% Cu
- Sorrel: 0.438Mt @ 1.0% Cu
- Roman Nose: 0.963Mt @ 0.9% Cu
- Sandy Flat: 3.100Mt @ 1.0% Cu
Together, these deposits comprise an Inferred Mineral Resource of 8.4Mt @ 1.1% Cu for 88.6kt of contained copper.
Previously reported drilling demonstrates the high-grade potential of the mineralisation:
- 102m @ 2.24% Cu from 100m at the Bluff Deposit (BL-071)
- 17m @ 3.04% Cu from 1m at the Azurite Deposit (AZ07-004)
Golden Horse has identified significant potential for resource growth, with more than 50 breccia pipes interpreted across the Project area and only seven having been meaningfully drill tested.
Recent prospectivity work has also identified additional copper, cobalt, uranium and rare earth element (Cu-Co-U-REE) targets, providing further exploration opportunities beyond the existing Mineral Resource.
Next Steps
Golden Horse will continue to progress the Sorrel Copper Project through systematic geological assessment, target generation and exploration planning.
The Company’s focus is on securing the required heritage approvals, prioritising high-impact targets and progressing drilling to test untested breccia pipes and other prospective targets.
The objective is to assess the potential for significant resource growth while continuing to evaluate the broader economic potential of the Sorrel Copper Project.
